Original Jetson Nano in 2026: still worth building on now that JetPack 4 is end-of-life?

NVIDIA ended the JetPack 4 series with 4.6.6 as the final release, and the original Jetson Nano can't move to JetPack 5 or 6. It stays on Ubuntu 18.04 (L4T 32.x). NVIDIA's lifecycle page lists the Nano Developer Kit as end of life, while the Nano commercial module stays available until January 2027. Questions for the group: • Are you still running a Nano in a robot? What runs on it today: TensorRT, DeepStream, ROS 2 in Docker? • If you moved on (Orin Nano, a Pi 5 with an AI accelerator, something else), was it worth it?
