botware.club is a website for people who build robots, run by Aidrix Labs in India ("we", "us"). This page explains what information we collect, why, who else handles it, and the choices you have. We don't sell your information and we don't show third-party advertising based on it.
What we collect
- Your account: email address, password (stored by Google Firebase Authentication, never seen by us) or your Google sign-in, name, @handle, country, whether you're an individual or an organisation (and its name), and what you tell us in your profile: goals, skills, a short bio, a portfolio link, and whether you're open to freelance work.
- What you post: discussion threads and replies, events you plan and passes you book, your business details if you register one (name, services, city, phone, email), job orders, quotes, marketplace listings, freelance posts, reviews, and the messages you send to other members about them.
- Messages to us: the name, email and message you send through the Contact page, and "Notify me" requests for products.
- Country detection: our host (Google Firebase Hosting) uses your IP address to tell the page which country you're in, so we can show local businesses, listings and currency. We don't store your IP address.
- Visitor statistics: when switched on, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page visits without cookies and without tracking you across sites.
- Stored in your browser only: small settings such as your last chosen filters, and the data of the NFC tools (attendance logs and parts-bin counts). These stay on your device and are never sent to us.
Why we use it
- To run your account and show what you post to other members and visitors (profiles, posts, listings and business pages are public).
- To connect people: send job orders to matching businesses, let buyers and sellers message each other, and manage event passes.
- To keep the site safe: moderation, handling reports, and stopping spam and abuse.
- To reply to you and to tell you about things you asked for (for example, when a product goes on sale).
Who else handles it
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database in India, Hosting) stores the site and your data for us.
- Cloudflare provides the visitor statistics described above (when switched on).
- YouTube: the Daily Brief and the Pick of the day play in YouTube's embedded player. When you press play, YouTube may collect information under its own rules. botware.club uses YouTube API Services to publish our own daily video to our YouTube channel; we use them only for our own channel and access no data about you through them. See the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
- Other members see what you post publicly, and the people you message see your messages.
- We share information with authorities only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and posts while your account exists. Contact messages are kept until they're dealt with. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your profile and your posts, except where we must keep something by law or to deal with abuse.
Your choices and rights
- You can see and change your profile at any time (account menu → Update profile).
- You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account, through the Contact page. These rights include those under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
- If you signed in with Google, you can also remove botware.club's access at Google Account → Third-party connections.
Children
botware.club is meant for people aged 18 and over. Younger builders may use it only with a parent's or guardian's permission and supervision. If you believe a child has given us information without that permission, tell us through the Contact page and we'll delete it. (Junior, the presenter of the Daily Brief, is an AI-made character.)
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections (https), and database rules limit who can read or change each record. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep it to yourself.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. Questions or requests, including grievances about your data: use the Contact page.
